
The Oyo State Police Command has disclosed that it has detained no fewer than six alleged armed robbers.
The individuals in question, as stated by the police, were captured at a hotel situated in the 7UP/Academy region of Ibadan, the capital of the state.
The Public Relations Officer of the command, Olayinka Ayanlade, made the announcement in a statement provided to NAIJATAB on Tuesday.
Ayanlade further noted that multiple items were seized from the suspects as evidence.
He also mentioned that the operation was successfully executed following precise information received from community members.
Ayanlade reiterated that the suspects will be prosecuted once investigations are complete.
He stated, “Responding quickly to the intelligence received, the operatives initiated a well-planned sting operation and descended upon the location, culminating in the capture of six suspects. The detained individuals are Kelvin Daniel, Idris Ramon, Christopher Solomon, Mohamed Telim, Taored Aderibigbe, and Adekunle Tolani.
“In the aftermath of the arrests, the following evidence was seized from the suspects: eighteen mobile devices, one Opay ATM card, one National Identification Number (NIN) card, and a tricycle with registration number OYO SHK 508 QP, identified as the vehicle utilized by the gang.
“Considering the above, the Command reassures the public that investigations are underway and all suspects will face charges upon the conclusion of inquiries. Further updates will be shared in due time.”
