
A 65-year-old agricultural worker, recognized as Kehinde Ojo has purportedly been slain by individuals believed to be herders in the Oriire local government area of Oyo State.
The victim was reportedly killed on Sunday by herders who insisted he permit their livestock to graze on his cassava farm.
The occurrence, according to sources familiar with the village, took place at Igbopupa in Yawota close to Alawusa, within the Oriire local government vicinity.
The deceased allegedly visited the farm around 4:00 pm on Sunday to assess his cassava plantation but was reportedly attacked with a machete by the suspects.
He is said to have been hurried to a medical facility in Ogbomoso, where he eventually succumbed around 2:00 am on Monday.
NAIJATAB learned that the case has been reported to the authorities at Ikoyi-Ile.
Public Relations Officer of the Oyo State Police command, Olayinka Ayanlade when approached confirmed the occurrence.
Ayanlade, in a statement provided to NAIJATAB on Monday, mentioned that three suspects have been apprehended.
Indeed, the mentioned Pa Kehinde Idowu sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the medical center today; meanwhile, three individuals have been detained in relation to his homicide and the inquiry is proceeding,” Ayanlade confirmed.
