
The Jigawa State Police Command has stationed sufficient security forces across designated examination centres to ensure a seamless and trouble-free execution of the ongoing 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Computer-Based Test assessments in the state.
This information was shared in a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Shiisu Lawan Adam, who mentioned that the deployment was in response to instructions from the Commissioner of Police, CP Haruna A. Yahaya.
As per the statement, the security measures align with the directives of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, and represent part of the command’s dedication to safeguarding lives and property, while also fostering educational advancement.
The statement clarified that the personnel assigned include uniformed officers, undercover agents, and intelligence squads positioned at various centres to uphold law and order, prevent any form of compromise, and swiftly address security issues during the process.
It further indicated that patrols, monitoring, and access control measures had also been heightened around examination sites and their vicinities to deter criminal activities and ensure the uninterrupted movement of candidates and officials.
The command urged parents, guardians, and candidates to cooperate with security personnel, adhere to examination protocols, and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police facility.
The Commissioner of Police reassured community members of the command’s dedication to sustaining peace and security throughout the state and extended best wishes to all candidates for their examinations.
