
Five alleged traffickers have been apprehended by the troops of Operation HADIN KAI during an initiative along a secluded route connecting Borno and Yobe states.
Zagazola Makama reported in a post on X that the individuals were detained in the early hours of April 19, at approximately 4:15 a.m., by members of the 27 Task Force Brigade collaborating with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), according to security insiders.
The operation transpired along an isolated track between Yunusari and Bukarti, extending towards the Kaula and Gamari direction, encompassing segments of Abadam Local Government Area of Borno State and Yunusari LGA of Yobe State.
Security insiders informed Makama that the troops intercepted three Golf vehicles traversing the bush path, culminating in the capture of the suspects.
“Security insiders indicated that the suspects were taken into custody at around 4:15 a.m. on April 19 by members of the 27 Task Force Brigade in cooperation with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF),” Makama mentioned.
Those detained were recognized as Ari Chune, 28, and Umara Sani, 24, both hailing from Borno State. Others include Tujjani Bogo, 32, Haruna Ibrahim, 17, and Lawan Ahmadu, 18, all residents of Yunusari Local Government Area of Yobe State.
Items seized during the operation consist of 39 solar panels, 10 surface pumping devices, 470 units of 2×2 timber, and 64 plastic fiber roofing sheets. Additional items found in their possession include four Android smartphones, one compact Tecno phone, and a total of ₦223,200.
The insiders stated that the suspects and the recovered items are currently in the hands of the 27 Task Force Brigade for further examination.
