
Nigerian forces involved in Operation MESA have detained two alleged terrorist logistics couriers along the Obajana–Kabba route in Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State.
This information was shared in a post on X by Zagazola Makama, an expert in counter-insurgency and security in the Lake Chad region. State.
Makama noted, referencing sources, that the operation took place on Monday, prompted by reliable intelligence regarding the movement of suspected terrorist logistics couriers.
As per the report, troops from the 12 Brigade established a temporary checkpoint at RA Oshokoshoko and intercepted a vehicle transporting the suspects headed to Obajana from Makurdi.
A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a bag containing 314 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and three AK-47 magazines, hidden behind the driver’s seat.
Additional items recovered encompass two mobile devices, a driver’s license, a National Identification Number (NIN) slip, and an identity card.
The detainees and the seized items are presently in military custody for further inquiry and action.
