“Edo Security Strikes: Trio, Including Father and Son, Nabbed in Kidnapping Case”



Personnel of the Edo State Security Corps, ESSC, have apprehended a father and son for the purported abduction of a farmer.

NAIJATAB reports that the personnel also detained another individual in relation to the abduction.

The individuals were claimed to be part of the kidnapping gang tormenting Lgue-Ero, Lwu, and Lzakagbon in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo state.

The Deputy Corps Commander, Operations of the Corps, Richard Balogun, who commended the diligence of the personnel for their persistence, stated that the individuals allegedly seized a farmer.

As per him, a farmer was taken in the vicinity a few days prior, prompting the members of the Edo State security corps to conduct extensive bush searches.

“The victim was in the process of being freed by his captors even though ransom had been paid. However, the security team did not waver as they persisted in their search for the armed individuals,” he articulated.

“The victim was able to identify one of the individuals as the person who shot him during his captivity with the kidnappers,” he added.

Balogun affirmed that the operation yielded results as three of the individuals, including a father and son, were captured in the process.

He mentioned that the three individuals have been transferred to the police for further inquiries.

The ESSC chief assured that comprehensive bush searches by the personnel will persist in accordance with the directive of the State Governor Monday Okpebholo.

NAIJATAB gathered that there have been multiple homicides in the region reportedly carried out by the apprehended individuals.
