“Davido Declares: ‘My Children Will Inherit Dad’s Legacy, Not the Spotlight'”

Renowned Afrobeat artist, Davido, has expressed that he doesn’t desire any of his offspring to engage in the entertainment field.

Davido, who revealed this during a popular interview with ‘Breakfast Club’, mentioned that his kids will be employed in his father, Deji Adeleke’s enterprises.

The artist credited this choice to his previous challenges prior to attaining success in the industry, emphasizing that working in his father’s businesses will simplify their lives.

Sharing how his father’s refusal to back his music career before his breakthrough “dampened his joy,” Davido emphasized that he would continue to support any of his children who opt to enter the entertainment field.

Interviewer: “Do you wish for your children to be part of this industry or would you rather they work with grandpa?”

Davido responded, “Omo, go work with my dad. Every Christmas, my father takes all the grandkids along. And I could just observe that despite all the things he possesses, including several private jets and more, his joy is seeing his grandchildren.

“And my dad is single. So I just witnessed his happiness and I thought, meh, this is really what life is about. My father not wanting me to be in the entertainment field truly dampened my joy until he recognized that I was genuinely determined to pursue this. I wouldn’t want to do that to my children either. My daughter is already singing and dancing,” he stated.
