Sharon Adeleke, sibling of Afrobeats sensation, David Adeleke, famously referred to as Davido, has asserted that the artist brought opulence and extravagant lifestyle into the Nigerian music scene.
She made this assertion during the singer’s Apple Radio live engagement with family and friends to commemorate his 15th year in the music arena.
“I believe that David is among the individuals who initiated all this flashiness and showcasing and made it trendy, in Nigeria,” she remarked.
Davido indicated: “When we arrived in Nigeria, Mo’Hits did it with having a team, but you notice how in America, every accomplished musician has a crew, his associates and whatnot.”
Sharon maintained: “You introduced that. No one used to do that.”
Davido has consistently acknowledged drawing inspiration from the now-defunct Mo’Hits, which was headed by Don Jazzy and D’banj.
In past interviews, he recounted how he was motivated to pursue music by the Mo’Hits team and spending time in their estate when he ran away from home after disregarding his father’s command not to follow a musical career.
