Nigerian artist, BNXN has strongly criticized American rapper Fat Joe over his contentious assertion that Afrobeats traces its roots to Jamaica.
NAIJATAB reports that Fat Joe presented multiple contentious statements on a recent podcast, including the idea that Afrobeats originated from Jamaica and compelling BNXN to alter his previous stage name Buju due to Jamaican dancehall artist, Buju Banton.
In response via his X account on Thursday, BNXN encouraged the American rapper to broaden his knowledge about African music.
BNXN also ridiculed Fat Joe, suggesting that his disdain for African music and its performers was impacting his appearance.
He stated, “The animosity in your heart and your incorrect beliefs about African music and its artists is the reason your chromosomes are all f**ked up.
“Enlighten yourself bozo @fatjoe.”
