“Dangiwa’s Farewell: A Bold Message to Tinubu and FEC Following Housing Minister Departure”

The departing Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Dangiwa, has conveyed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the chance to serve in the Federal Executive Council, FEC, and contribute to the execution of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Dangiwa articulated these thoughts in reaction to the recent reshuffle in the cabinet that resulted in his departure from office alongside the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun. This development was affirmed on Tuesday.

In a statement released by his Special Assistant on Media and Strategy, Mark Chieshe, the former minister characterized his term as both an honor and a duty in service to the nation.

He expressed his privilege in being assigned the leadership of reforms in Nigeria’s housing and urban development sector, emphasizing that the experience was truly gratifying.

Dangiwa also offered thanks to Members of the FEC, his governmental peers, heads of housing agencies, development partners, and ministry personnel for their collaboration and assistance throughout his tenure.

“I wish to wholeheartedly thank Mr. President for the trust he placed in me to serve as Honourable Minister of Housing and Urban Development. It has been an exceptional opportunity to aid the advancement of policies and initiatives aimed at increasing access to affordable housing for Nigerians,” he stated.

He pointed out that under President Tinubu’s guidance, the ministry achieved significant strides in reorienting the housing sector as a crucial contributor to economic development, employment creation, and social inclusion.

While recognizing the mandate to finalize handover procedures in accordance with the presidential directive, Dangiwa assured that the transition process would be seamless and well-organized.

He reiterated his ongoing commitment to the objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda and expressed faith in the capability of the incoming leadership to build on existing advancements and further enhance delivery in the sector.

The former minister underscored major accomplishments during his term, which included the launch of the Renewed Hope Housing Programme, strengthened public-private collaborations in housing provision, and reforms in land management and housing finance.

“I am thankful to my colleagues in the Federal Executive Council, stakeholders across the housing value chain, and the committed staff members of the Ministry and its agencies for their dedication and diligence. Together, we laid sturdy foundations for a more organized and sustainable housing delivery system in Nigeria,” he added.

He further committed to continued dedication to national progress and support for initiatives focused on enhancing housing, infrastructure, and economic development in the nation.
