“Exciting Launch: FCT Bus and Taxi Terminals Set to Open Soon, Says Wike”

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has announced that the finalized FCT Bus and Taxi Terminals will commence operations shortly following the endorsement of the Federal Executive Council, FEC.

Wike made this revelation in Abuja on Friday, subsequent to his assessment of several ongoing initiatives in the territory, including the Mabushi Bus Terminal Road, to facilitate access to the terminal.

He conveyed his pleasure that President Bola Tinubu and the FEC had sanctioned the administration of the two bus terminals in Mabushi and Kugbo, founded on a Public-Private Partnership framework.

He clarified that although the bus terminals were finalized and inaugurated in 2025, they could not initiate operations because their administration required approval beyond the ministerial level.

“We had to present this to the FEC and now the management has been sanctioned.

“The management crew was present with me today and they are establishing processes to ensure that they begin operation soon.

“I am pleased that, despite the lengthy wait, the delay will conclude within the next one to three weeks,” he remarked.

Regarding the projects inspected, the minister expressed his contentment with the speed and quality of work on the Mabushi bus terminal road.

He revealed that the road would be inaugurated to commemorate Tinubu’s third anniversary.

Wike also praised the exemplary completion of the Arterial Road N1, stretching from Wuye District to Ring Road II, and expressed hope that it would be finished and handed over before the year concludes.

He stated that the inhabitants of the FCT are entitled to excellence and that Tinubu is striving to provide it for them.
