
Three youthful leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State have tragically perished in a devastating vehicle collision while en route to Lafia, Nasarawa State, to participate in the party’s North Central Zonal Congress.
The individuals have been recognized as Hon. Anawo Benjamin from Orokam Ward 3, Hon. Ogbe Enemari from Ai-oono Ward 3, and Hon. Abraham Enenche from Olachagbaha Ward.
They succumbed at the site of the accident, while numerous other members of the group suffered various degrees of injuries and are presently undergoing treatment.
The tragic event transpired along the Makurdi–Lafia highway on Wednesday, abruptly ending the lives of these young party officials who were reportedly engaged in official party responsibilities.
In response to this occurrence, the 2023 APC Benue South Senatorial candidate, Comrade Daniel Onjeh, conveyed profound grief over the loss, characterizing it as a heart-wrenching calamity.
He remarked that the deceased were devoted grassroots politicians whose commitment and fidelity played a vital role in the party’s advancement.
Onjeh offered his sympathies to the mourning families and the APC community in Ogbadibo and Benue State, praying for divine fortitude to cope with the distressing loss.
He also urged for solidarity among party members in this challenging time and offered prayers for the swift recovery of the injured.
In a similar vein, the Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Moro, characterized the situation as shocking and heartbreaking, particularly since numerous lives were lost from the same local government area simultaneously.
He expressed condolences to the inhabitants of Ogbadibo, along with the relatives, friends, and political associates of the deceased, praying for the eternal peace of their souls and for divine solace for those who remain.
The senator also wished for a rapid recovery for the injured.
