
Six individuals have been verified deceased, while 12 more incurred injuries in a devastating vehicular mishap along the Okolowo–Jebba expressway in Kwara State.
The occurrence was revealed in a message shared on X on Friday by security expert Zagazola Makama.
As per the message, the incident transpired in the early hours of Thursday, approximately at 6 am, in proximity to the Danjuma Bakery vicinity. It involved a Toyota Hummer bus carrying 18 individuals and a parked truck.
“The bus, which was journeying from Lagos to Katsina, allegedly crashed into the stationary truck on the highway.
“The force of the impact resulted in the immediate death of six passengers, while 12 others experienced various levels of injuries,” Makama stated.
The injured parties were swiftly transported to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital in Oke-Oyi, where they are presently undergoing treatment. The remains of the deceased were taken to the hospital’s morgue.
The truck involved in the incident was reportedly operated by Kamarudeen Abdullahi, a resident of Jos North Local Government Area in Plateau State.
Officials have since initiated an inquiry to ascertain the precise cause of the incident.
