“Rivers United Faces Setback as Abia Warriors Celebrate Home Victory in NPFL Clash!”



Rivers United experienced yet another setback in their championship pursuit after a 4-1 loss to Nasarawa United in Lafia on Monday.

The home team struck twice within the initial five minutes courtesy of Ngei Oluka-Efor and Abubakar Abdullahi.

Chimezie Victor contributed the third goal in the 15th minute, while Taiwo Abdulrafiu lessened the gap for Rivers United nine minutes afterward.

JoFrank Istifanus secured the fourth for Nasarawa United in the 58th minute.

Rivers United continues to hold second place in the standings with 52 points, while Nasarawa United ascends to third place with 50 points.

At the Umuahia Township Stadium, Abia Warriors triumphed over Niger Tornadoes 2-1.

Suraju Lawal and Casmir Azubuike found the net for Abia Warriors, while Joseph Godfrey scored for the Tornadoes.
