“Game Changer: Sanwo-Olu Backs Hamzat as Next Leader for 2027!”

The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has officially backed his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, as his favored successor for the 2027 gubernatorial election in the state.

Sanwo-Olu proclaimed this endorsement following a private meeting at Lagos House, Marina, during which Hamzat formally announced his desire to contest for the gubernatorial position in front of members of the State Executive Council and prominent party figures.

In attendance were members of the Governor’s Advisory Council, including the former Minister of State for Defense, Musiliu Obanikoro, and Ganiyu Solomon, among others.

Addressing journalists post-meeting, Sanwo-Olu mentioned that the endorsement was a collective agreement obtained from stakeholders present, describing Hamzat as qualified and equipped to guide the state.

“We just welcomed Mr. Deputy, who arrived with a strong team of our leaders in the state to inform us of his ambition to vie for the governorship position of the state.

“It was a collective consensus among us to affirm that Mr. Deputy Governor is a man who is suitable and well-prepared for this role. He is a person who is aware of where all the areas in the house are,” the governor stated.

Sanwo-Olu conveyed his appreciation to President Bola Tinubu, who, as per him, has played a vital role in the emergence of both himself and Hamzat, along with their collaborative relationship.
