The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has voiced strong assurance in the competence of his campaign committee to secure triumph in the impending election.
Governor Adeleke disclosed this on Wednesday during the launch of a 52-member campaign committee tasked with leading his pursuit for re-election in the August 15 gubernatorial race.
The inauguration event, conducted in Osogbo, saw the attendance of high-ranking government officials and party stakeholders, chaired by the former National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Wale Oladipo.
While addressing the assembly, Governor Adeleke stated, “I am sensing victory, the downfall of our adversaries. This group is on the path to success. My spirit affirms our party will be proclaimed the winner by significant margins.”
He reminisced about the circumstances that led to his ascent in the 2022 gubernatorial election and encouraged committee members to emulate the same degree of dedication.
“This is how we initiated in 2022. Today marks the progression to victory on August 15th. I now inaugurate this Campaign Council for the purpose of continuity and provision of good governance,” he further remarked.
As per the information released in a statement by the state governor on Tuesday, the Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate, Lere Oyewumi, will take on the role of Director General of the campaign.
The Osun State Commissioner for Information, Kolapo Alimi, was appointed as Deputy Director General, while Pelumi Olajengbesi will serve as spokesperson and Bola Ajao as the secretary.
Additional members of the committee comprise the National Treasurer of the Peoples Democratic Party, Diran Odeyemi, the Osun PDP Chairman, Sunday Bisi, and music icon Davido, among others.
The campaign committee has been entrusted with orchestrating efforts aimed at ensuring Adeleke’s return for another term in office.
