Nigerian vocalist, Ayra Starr has identified her top Afrobeats performers of all time, commonly referred to as the “Afrobeats Big 3.”
In a recent discussion with Hot 97 FM, Starr selected Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, and Rema as the top Afrobeats talents of all time.
The typical contenders Davido and Burna Boy, who are frequently mentioned alongside Wizkid as part of the Afrobeats Big 3, were noticeably overlooked by Ayra Starr.
“My Afrobeats Big 3 would consist of Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, and Rema. My reliable Big 3,” she stated.
Simultaneously, Ayra Starr has shared the reasons for her move from Nigeria to New York, mentioning that her companions and cultural familiarity played a role in her choice.
“I spent the previous two summers in New York and last summer I resided in Hell’s Kitchen for roughly three months with my friends. We were enjoying American shows and films. It was enjoyable.
“Moreover, growing up, I always aspired to visit America. So, which city did I wish to go to? LA is too distant, with a nine-hour time difference from Nigeria. Therefore, I opted for New York,” she elaborated in a conversation with Angela Yee.
