Vocalist Burna Boy’s mother, Bose Ogulu, has defended him amid social media criticism.

This situation arose following the singer’s recent confrontation with Wizkid’s DJ, DJ Tunez at a Lagos nightclub. The event further instigated an online altercation between Wizkid and Burna Boy.

In response to the uproar, numerous Nigerians admonished Burna for frequently resorting to violence, labeling him arrogant.

However, while defending the singer’s conduct during an interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on Channels TV, Bose Ogulu expressed that she has no issue being perceived as arrogant.

When asked about Burna Boy, she remarked that if recognizing his value and acting accordingly is conceit, then she views it positively. “And I won’t apologize for that.”

Ebuka questioned: “Do you mind that Burna Boy is regarded as arrogant? Does it bother you that you are perceived as arrogant in the way you manage the Burna brand?”

She replied: “Honestly, I don’t mind at all. I mean any descriptor they choose to assign to you is fine. The key is who are you? If understanding your value and conducting yourself as such is arrogance, then that is a positive thing. And I won’t apologize for that. Because I believe we were brought into a world where we were expected to be submissive.

“Initially, it’s the color of your skin, the hue of your passport, and for me, my gender. Therefore, I don’t comprehend that lifestyle. I grasp that if I possess knowledge, I do, and I anticipate that you acknowledge it too. And if you fail to recognize that I possess knowledge, then, challenge me,” she stated.
