“Adamawa Government Greenlights N4 Billion Upgrade for Mubi-Gyela Road”

The Adamawa State Administration has sanctioned N4 billion for the rehabilitation of a significant rural route, the Mubi-Gyela Road.

Presently in a critically deteriorated condition, the road extends for 3.5 km.

The endorsement was given during the State Executive Council assembly led on Wednesday by Deputy Governor Kaletapwa George Farauta.

In a briefing to reporters following the assembly, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. James Iliya, articulated that the initiative is part of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s continuous dedication to both rural and urban advancement.

He revealed that the contract for the initiative has been granted to Triacta Nigeria Limited, which is anticipated to finalize the project within 12 months.

Elaborating further, the Commissioner for Works, Mohammed Suleiman, clarified that the Mubi-Gyela Road initiative has been divided into stages due to its degraded state.

In another development, the Adamawa State Administration has inaugurated three new waste compactor vehicles to enhance garbage collection and elevate environmental cleanliness.

The Commissioner for Environment, Mohammed Sadiq, who oversaw the inauguration ceremony at the Unity Flyover in Jimeta, Yola, noted that the vehicles would assist government agencies in gathering and transporting waste to the state’s permanent landfill for appropriate disposal and recycling.

He mentioned that the compactor vehicles have the capability to carry double the load of standard trucks, thus enhancing efficiency and lowering fuel expenses.
