Yobe Court Hands Down 12-Year Sentence to Man for Disturbing Crime Against Child



A Magistrate Court in Injiwaji, Damaturu, has condemned 22-year-old Rabilu Sani to 12 years in confinement after he was found culpable of assaulting a four-year-old girl in Jakusko Local Government Area of Yobe State.

The presiding judge of Magistrate Court 1 validated that the crime was established and convicted Rabilu Sani, sentencing him to 12 years’ incarceration without the possibility of a monetary fine.

Nonetheless, the court also verified that medical examinations indicated that Rabilu Sani is not affected by HIV, as had been widely conjectured.

The Yobe State Government, under the guidance of the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hajiya Ya Jalo Badama, spearheaded the endeavor to obtain justice for the victim following months of judicial processes in court.
