Nigerian performer, Wumi Toriola, has admonished well-known influencer, Enioluwa for addressing her by her name.
The occurrence, which was recorded in a now-viral clip on social media, took place at an event held in Lagos State on Saturday night.
Wumi Toriola was spotted exchanging courtesies with actress Ini Edo and Eniola Ajao when Enioluwa remarked “Wumi how are you?” while attempting to embrace her.
In reply, the actress, infuriated by the manner in which she was referred to, shoved Enioluwa back and queried “are you out of your mind? Did you just mention my name? How dare you call me by my name?
Enioluwa swiftly answered, “No no I didn’t say that. I said aunty Wumi how are you?”
Voicing her frustration, the actress asserted “you can’t greet me like that; you must prostrate to greet me. We are not equals.”
The trending video incited mixed reactions online with numerous individuals backing Wumi’s reaction while others remarked, “Wunmi has an issue with aunty.”
In response to the public feedback, Wumi posted on her Instagram story; “I noticed people discussing my age. Not everyone is aware ooo. My whole family has youthful looks. I completed secondary school in 2003. Do the math. 16 doesn’t enter uni back then.”
