“Victory in the Shadows: DSS Nabs Female Ammunition Supplier”

Agents of the Department of State Services (DSS) have apprehended a 25-year-old female, Nafisa Usman, for purportedly providing ammunition to criminals, retrieving over 200 rounds of ammunition from her during the operation.

The individual was reportedly intercepted on Wednesday at a transportation hub in Kano while conveying the ammunition from Lafia, Nasarawa State, to Kankara in Katsina State.

The cargo was believed to be destined for groups of bandits operating in the forested regions of the North-West.

According to AIT, sources from security agencies revealed that “the apprehension occurred as a result of actionable intelligence, which allowed agents to interrupt the supply chain prior to the completion of the delivery.”

During questioning, Usman allegedly admitted that she had been engaged in the unlawful trade for approximately two months.

She reportedly disclosed that the ammunition was provided by an individual known as “Teso,” who is said to be collaborating with a soldier based in Lafia.

The suspect further revealed that she had facilitated transactions amounting to about N5 million, supplying ammunition to numerous individuals, including a bandit leader named Mallam Haruna.

The DSS characterized the operation as a major breakthrough in ongoing endeavors to dismantle criminal networks fueling insecurity in the North-West.

Security agencies have since amplified efforts to pursue additional members of the syndicate associated with the arms supply chain.
