
Unknown assailants have allegedly abducted a minimum of 14 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, candidates in Benue State.
The candidates were allegedly taken during an assault on a passenger bus en route from Makurdi to Otukpo in the state.
As per reports, the victims, predominantly young individuals, were heading to Otukpo, where they were expected to take their exams on Thursday.
Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Area, Maxwell Ogiri, who verified the occurrence to reporters in Makurdi, stated that the victims were bound for the town for their examinations when the assailants struck.
“The victims are young individuals coming to Otukpo to write JAMB. Security personnel have been dispatched, and efforts are underway to secure their release,” Ogiri mentioned.
