“Tragic Turn: Gunmen End the Life of Police Inspector in Makurdi, Benue”

A law enforcement officer, Otor Ejiga, assigned to the Mega IDP Camp located along Gbajimba Road in Makurdi, Benue State, was tragically shot by unknown assailants on Thursday evening.

The official was reportedly ambushed while managing an unauthorized solitary checkpoint near the camp.

Subsequent to the occurrence, the attackers supposedly fled the site with his Type O6 rifle.

A responding patrol unit later retrieved his remains and transported them to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Sources revealed that security forces have initiated a search operation to capture those accountable and recover the stolen weapon.
