Former legislator, Shehu Sani has condemned the persistent violence in Plateau State following the recent murders that tarnished Palm Sunday festivities.
In a message posted on X on Monday, Sani characterized Plateau as a region abundantly blessed with scenic beauty and resources yet afflicted by waves of bloodshed.
He remarked that the area is graced with undulating hills, a temperate atmosphere, fertile land, waterfalls, and mineral wealth, positioning it as one of the most naturally favored zones in Nigeria.
In spite of these assets, he expressed sorrow that violence continues to obscure its promise.
Sani urged for an end to the carnage and called on stakeholders to strive for enduring tranquility in the region.
He stated: “Plateau state is endowed with what nature denies other regions in the nation: It’s stunning undulating hills, welcoming ‘temperate’ climates, magnificent waterfalls, unparalleled fertile land, and uncommon minerals.
“Plateau resembles a Divinely favored stone of gold and diamonds, cursed with the cyclic rituals of unnecessarily spilling and sacrificing the blood of its inhabitants.”
“Anything on Earth you sow can flourish on the plateau except peace. Plateau beckons to the World with its dazzling, radiant, and enchanting beauty but alas terrifies the World with its Swords. Let there be peace on the plateau.”
