Previous presidential aspirant of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, has conveyed assurance in his capability to garner backing from northern Nigeria in anticipation of the 2027 elections, asserting that no other contender can rival his strategies for the area.

During an appearance on Prime Time on Arise Television on Monday, Obi stated his aim to revolutionize the North, which he referred to as Nigeria’s most significant asset.

“No one can achieve what I plan to realize in the North. We will revolutionize the North. Our most valuable asset as a nation lies in the North. We can generate more revenue from agriculture than we do from oil,” he remarked.

The former Anambra State governor also highlighted the necessity of bolstering democratic institutions, urging the government to endorse opposition parties.

He asserted that a robust opposition is crucial for efficient governance and transparency.

“The government ought to safeguard the opposition. Actually, they should empower the opposition and ensure its functionality,” he added.
