“2027 Showdown: Obidient Movement Alleges INEC Conspiracy Against Peter Obi’s Presidential Bid”

The Obidient Movement has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of scheming to deny a prominent member of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Peter Obi a platform prior to the 2027 presidential election.

National Coordinator of the movement, Yunusa Tanko, claimed that the removal of the ADC by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was part of a larger plan to hinder Peter Obi from competing in the upcoming presidential race.

While speaking to reporters, Tanko asserted that the supposed scheme had been progressing since the 2023 general election, labeling it as a significant threat to Nigeria’s democratic processes.

“This covert operation has been unfolding since the 2023 election, intentionally instigating turmoil within Obi’s former party, the Labour Party, to obstruct him from establishing a solid presence.

“Despite Obi’s unyielding attempts to cultivate harmony, government operatives supported by a compromised judiciary consistently undermined these efforts.

“After joining forces with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and revitalizing the party, the ruling party intensified its sabotage, pursuing legislative modifications that culminated in a detrimental amendment to the Electoral Act, specifically aimed at pressuring the ADC and destabilizing Obi’s presidential aspirations.

“Obi’s visit on March 22, 2026, to former Kano Governor and 2023 NNPP presidential candidate Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, where he was warmly embraced by Kwankwasiyya members, only heightened the ruling party’s antagonism.

“The pivotal moment occurred at the ADC’s significant rally in Kano on March 30, 2026, where Kwankwaso officially became part of the ADC.

“In a frantic attempt, the government coerced INEC to reinterpret an Appeal Court verdict, resulting in the removal of the ADC’s leadership,” he stated.
