“Nigeria Launches Innovative Migration Strategy to Bolster Border Security”



The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has declared that the recently authenticated National Migration Policy, 2025, will enhance border management and improve national safety.

The Comptroller-General of Immigration, Mrs Kemi Nanna Nandap, conveyed this during the inauguration of a countrywide awareness initiative regarding the policy in Dutse, Jigawa State.

The gathering, themed “Promoting Awareness for Efficient Migration Governance and Border Management,” occurred at the NIS headquarters within the state.

Represented by the Jigawa State Controller of Immigration, T.A. Musa, Nandap detailed that the revised policy offers a more robust and synchronized framework for safeguarding Nigeria’s frontiers while also fostering legitimate movement for commerce, tourism, and investment.

She stressed that the success of the policy will significantly hinge on its effective execution, highlighting that it necessitates commitment, professionalism, and flexibility from personnel across all divisions.

Nandap furthermore reiterated the Service’s dedication to establishing a migration system that is secure, effective, and compassionate, in alignment with the nation’s developmental objectives.
