
The Niger State House of Assembly has reiterated its dedication to partnering with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, in fostering openness, responsibility, and effective governance within the state.
This pledge was made during a courtesy call by the Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner of the ICPC in Niger State, Mr. Kennedy Ebhotemen, who headed a delegation to the Assembly.
The Speaker, Abdulmalik Mohammed Sarkin-Daji, welcomed the delegation along with other members of the House at the Assembly Complex in Minna.
In his address, the Speaker expressed gratitude to the ICPC team for their visit, calling it timely and important.
He assured the Commission of the Assembly’s eagerness to collaborate closely in promoting anti-corruption initiatives and enhancing institutional integrity in the State.
He mentioned that the visit would further strengthen the current relationship between the Niger State House of Assembly and the ICPC, emphasizing that both organizations remain devoted to ongoing partnership for the progress of the State.
In his reply, Ebhotemen thanked the Speaker and members of the Assembly for the cordial welcome extended to him and his team.
He underscored the Commission’s mandate, which includes the prevention of corruption, public awareness against corrupt practices, and enforcement of adherence to anti-corruption legislations.
