“Heartwarming Rescue: How FCT Police Assisted a Mentally Unstable Woman in Childbirth”

Prominent Nigerian social media commentator, VeryDarkMan, has lauded personnel from the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command for assisting a mentally disturbed woman deliver a child in Kwali Area Council.

Describing the event via his Instagram account, VeryDarkMan noted, “it transpired in the early morning hours of April 3, 2026, amid a standard surveillance initiative by officers of the Rapid Response Squad, RRS, assigned throughout the FCT due to increased security worries ahead of the Easter festivities.”

He stated, “at approximately 12:20 a.m., the officers who were on patrol near Kwaita village in Kwali Area Council suddenly heard intense screams emanating from the roadside.”

The officers promptly approached the source of the screams and found a mentally unstable woman who was in labor.

Validating the occurrence, the FCT Police Command mentioned that the officers were alerted about the woman around 12:30 a.m., leading to immediate action from the command.

In a statement released on Saturday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, remarked that the Officer-in-Charge of the Gender Unit at Kwali Division quickly assembled her team to the scene after receiving the notification.

The officers provided assistance to the woman and ensured she gave birth safely.

In response to the situation, VeryDarkMan commended the officers for their compassion and committed to funding the child’s education from primary school through university.
