Vocalist Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, widely recognized as Portable, has criticized Nigerian clergymen for their persistent silence regarding the alleged Christian massacre within the nation.
NAIJATAB reports that a recent assault on Christians during Palm Sunday in Jos, Plateau State, by suspected jihadist groups has ignited fresh indignation concerning the alleged Christian extermination in Nigeria, a claim that the Federal Government has dismissed.
In response to the latest assault in Jos, Portable accused Nigerian clergymen of hypocrisy, asserting that they utilize armored vehicles for their personal security yet fail to vocalize when their congregants are slain by militants.
He expressed confusion as to why Nigerian pastors are not spearheading demonstrations despite the ongoing murders of Christians by presumed Islamic extremists.
The Zazu artist contended that Islamic leaders would not remain as silent as Nigerian pastors if Muslims were subjected to similar attacks.
Speaking in a blend of Yoruba and Pidgin in a video message, Portable stated: “Why aren’t Nigerian pastors advocating for Christians? They operate armored cars while their followers perish. Why can’t pastors organize a protest to Aso Rock? You cannot injure a Muslim without provoking chaos. If you harm a traditionalist, it will lead to turmoil. But if you kill a Christian, the pastor will turn a blind eye and continue enjoying in their vehicle.”
