The Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, has conveyed his astonishment following the untimely demise of a medical professional, Dr. Uzoma Nwaubani, after a brief ailment.
Nwaubani, who had recently returned from the United States of America to partake in the ongoing Association of Nigerian Physicians in Americas (ANPA) free medical outreach in Abia State, passed away following a health crisis.
A statement personally endorsed by Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, indicated that the late Dr. Nwaubani, who was expedited to the hospital after experiencing the health crisis, succumbed despite the valiant attempts by a proficient medical team to revive her.
“She had come back from the United States with her spouse—a true daughter of Abia—and their daughter, a final-year medical student in the US, to provide her medical knowledge gratuitously to the citizens of our beloved state. This act distinguishes her as a caring and exemplary medical practitioner, alongside other ANPA volunteers.
“I wish to extend my heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and also to share in the grief of the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas,” Otti lamented.
The Governor of Abia State praised the family of the late physician for their decision not to halt the ongoing free medical outreach amidst the tragedy, emphasizing that his administration would persist in prioritizing the well-being of the populace.
