“Gov Yusuf Condemns Youths in Scandal Amid First Lady’s Visit”

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has denounced the behavior of certain youths who allegedly revealed their undergarments during the recent official visit of the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

He characterized the action as shameful and intolerable.

The governor also distanced himself, his administration, and the residents of Kano from the occurrence, asserting that it does not embody the principles, culture, or traditions of the state.

This was included in a statement released on Sunday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad.

Governor Yusuf expressed his views while addressing the Third Special Prayer for Lasting Peace held at the Government House, where 4,444 Qur’anic reciters congregated to pray for tranquility, stability, and advancement in Kano State and Nigeria.

He stated that the behaviour of the youths was a blatant deviation from the Kano First Agenda of his administration and contradicted the teachings of Islam, which advocate for modesty, discipline, and respect for authority.

“Our youths should be representations of hope and development, not instruments for ridicule or moral decline,” the governor declared.

He also implored political figures to refrain from inciting young individuals for their own interests, cautioning that such actions could harm society.

“I urge my fellow politicians to exemplify good behaviour, cease the pattern of insults, and concentrate on the Kano First Agenda rather than guiding our children toward indecency,” Yusuf added.

The governor called upon the youths involved in the incident to seek atonement and apologize to the people of Kano for the humiliation caused.

He further cautioned against exploiting young people in political endeavors, saying it endangers the moral structure of society.

Recall that last week some youths were jubilating on the streets of Kano with undergarments in their hands, singing and dancing.
