Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has summoned a high-ranking security conference to enhance harmonious coexistence and safety throughout the state.
The assembly, attended by leaders of security organizations and local government chairpersons, evaluated the security landscape and devised plans to avert additional infractions.
“The curfew has now been modified to last from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and we have been instructed to ensure strict adherence,” stated Commissioner of Police, Bassey Ewah.
“Current restrictions, including prohibitions on commercial motorcycles and regulated movements of tricycles, remain in effect,” the CP further mentioned.
Ewah cautioned that offenders would encounter legal repercussions.
“Anyone apprehended for breaching the curfew will be prosecuted. Laws are established to be followed; should you violate them, you must confront the repercussions.”
Additionally, ALGON Chairman, Hamisu Mohammed Anani, remarked that local governments are implementing personalized approaches to address security challenges.
“Each local government will formulate strategies based on its unique characteristics,” he mentioned.
