Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has summoned a high-ranking security conference to enhance harmonious co-existence and safety throughout the state.
The gathering, which included leaders of security organizations and local government officials, assessed the security landscape and formulated tactics to avert future violations.
“The curfew has now been modified to operate from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and we have been instructed to ensure stringent adherence,” stated Commissioner of Police, Bassey Ewah.
“Current restrictions, including prohibitions on commercial motorcycles and controlled tricycle operations, continue to be in effect,” the CP noted.
Ewah cautioned that offenders would incur legal repercussions.
“Any individual apprehended for breaching the curfew will be prosecuted. Laws are intended to be followed; if you disregard them, you must bear the repercussions.”
Also addressing the assembly, ALGON Chairman, Hamisu Mohammed Anani, remarked that local governments are implementing customized approaches to tackle security challenges.
“Every local government will devise strategies aligned with its specific circumstances,” he remarked.
