“Drama Unfolds in Ondo: Duo Detained After Kidnapping Traffic Warden During Daring Escape”

Two individuals recognized as Olopade Abraham from Alagbaka, Akure and Emmanuel Taiwo, residing at the same location, have been apprehended by operatives of the Ondo State Police Command for purportedly kidnapping a Senior Traffic Warden, ST Oliniju Kehinde.

This information was revealed in a statement issued on Saturday by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Abayomi Jimoh.

The police clarified that on the 3rd of April, 2026, one of the suspects, operating a Toyota Avensis vehicle with registration number NND 398 EA, accompanied by Taiwo, blatantly disregarded traffic signals at Cathedral Junction, Akure.

The statement further mentioned that during the enforcement of compliance, a “Senior Traffic Warden, ST Oliniju Kehinde” attached to ‘A’ Division confronted the violating vehicle.

“When instructed to proceed to the station, the driver abruptly diverted to an unspecified location with the officer still inside the vehicle.

“Upon raising an alarm, a nearby patrol unit from Fanibi Division promptly responded, chased, and intercepted the vehicle at Winners Chapel Junction, Ondo Road, Akure, where the traffic warden was safely rescued.

“The suspects were ultimately taken into custody along with the vehicle,” the statement concluded.
