A Boko Haram faction referred to as Jama’atu Ahlis-Sunna Lidda’Awati Wal-Jihad (JAS) has disseminated a recording showcasing 416 kidnapped individuals from Ngoshe, a locality in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State, asserting that the hostages are alive, in good health, and not facing any maltreatment.
As per a video acquired and referenced by NAIJATAB, the militants exhibited the victims, primarily women and children, alongside a handful of men while engaging with them throughout the filming.
In the six-minute segment, a member of the group stated, “the clip was created at the behest of the Borno South Youths Alliance (BOSYA), which he asserted has been acting as an intermediary since the abduction.”
The organization also emphasized that the hostages were secure in their possession.
Meanwhile, BOSYA validated that 416 individuals were kidnapped and urged the Nigerian authorities, international allies, and global leaders to assist in urgent initiatives to ensure their safe return.
The assault on Ngoshe community transpired on March 4, when insurgents allegedly invaded the region and took hundreds of residents as captives.
