The Borno South Youth Alliance (BOSYA) has urged immediate intervention from governmental bodies, benefactors, and stakeholders following the 72-hour deadline set by Boko Haram regarding approximately 416 individuals kidnapped in the region.
The organization is requesting assistance amid ongoing negotiation efforts for the release of kidnapped women and children from the Ngoshe community in Borno State.
In a declaration signed by its President, Samaila Ibrahim Kaigama, the organization stated it received information that Boko Haram has imposed a 72-hour deadline concerning the victims.
“Based on information acquired during the negotiation process led by BOSYA President, Samaila Ibrahim Kaigama, a final warning video was transmitted after demands were articulated, including a ransom demand of N5 billion for the liberation of the kidnapped women and children.
“It was also mentioned that directives concerning how the release procedure would be conducted were conveyed.
“Given the urgency of this humanitarian issue, BOSYA reiterates its request to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, empathetic Nigerians, and benefactors, including Aliko Dangote, Abdul Samad Rabiu, and other conscientious Northern billionaires.
“We humbly urge all capable stakeholders to urgently take action and employ every legal and accessible method to aid in securing the freedom of these 416 women and children.
“This is a humanitarian emergency that necessitates prompt action, compassion, and solidarity,” the declaration stated.
