“Breaking Tradition: Davido Prioritizes Family Legacy Over Entertainment for His Children”

Renowned Afrobeat artist, Davido, has expressed that he prefers none of his children to enter the entertainment industry.

Davido, who shared this revelation during a trending interview with ‘Breakfast Club’, mentioned that his offspring will work in his father, Deji Adeleke’s enterprises.

The artist attributed his choice to his previous hardships prior to succeeding in the field, emphasizing that employment in his father’s businesses will facilitate a smoother life for them.

Recounting how his father’s refusal to back his musical aspirations before he found success “dampened his spirit,” Davido remarked that he would still support any of his children who decide to pursue a career in the entertainment sector.

Interviewer: “Would you like your children to be part of this industry or would you rather they work with their grandfather?”

Davido replied, “Omo, go and collaborate with my dad. Every Christmas, my father takes all the grandkids along with him. And I can clearly see that despite all he possesses, including several private jets, his true joy lies in seeing his grandchildren.

“And my father is single. So I observed his happiness, and I thought, eh, this is essentially what life is about. My dad’s reluctance to have me in the entertainment world truly stifled my joy until he realized that I was determined to follow this path. I wouldn’t want to inflict that on my kids as well. My daughter is already singing and dancing,” he stated.
