Yobe Man Sentenced to 12 Years for Disturbing Crime Against Innocence

A Magistrate Court in Injiwaji, Damaturu, has sentenced 22-year-old Rabilu Sani to 12 years in confinement after he was found culpable of assaulting a four-year-old girl in the Jakusko Local Government Area of Yobe State.

The presiding judge of Magistrate Court 1 verified that the crime was substantiated and declared Rabilu Sani guilty, imposing a 12-year term of imprisonment without the possibility of a fine.

Nonetheless, the court also verified that medical examinations indicated that Rabilu Sani is not afflicted with HIV, contrary to widespread speculation.

The Yobe State Government, under the direction of the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hajiya Ya Jalo Badama, spearheaded the campaign to secure justice for the victim following several months of legal proceedings in court.
