Rapper Aboriomoh Femi Raymond, widely recognized as Dremo, has expressed that his skill is not duly acknowledged by Nigerians.
In a recent discussion with Echo Room, the former DMW artist complained that he is not receiving the proper recognition or praise in the Nigerian music scene.
“I feel extremely underrated. Individuals are unaware of my capabilities in the studio. But that’s fine; I appreciate the underdog narrative. I feel extremely underrated. They don’t rate me at all,” he mentioned.
Dremo asserted that he thinks his specific genre, rap, has also played a role in why he isn’t esteemed, emphasizing that many Nigerians do not value rap as they do other genres like Afrobeats and pop.
The rapper also disclosed that he didn’t fulfill his aspirations of joining Davido Music Worldwide, DMW, before departing from the record label.
He indicated that the management of the label was solely concentrated on the CEO, Davido, to the detriment of other performers associated with the label.
