Tragedy on the Roads: Deadly Truck Crash Shakes Ibadan



Two individuals have been fatally injured as a consequence of an incident that transpired in Ibadan, NAIJATAB reports.

Our reporter gathered that a truck allegedly lost its grip after experiencing brake malfunction at Beere Roundabout in the early hours of Tuesday.

It was reported that the truck collided with several vehicles as well as roadside vendors and passersby.

NAIJATAB learned that two individuals, a man and a woman, perished in the incident.

Our reporter also noted that some individuals sustained injuries during the occurrence.

Public Relations Officer of the Oyo State Police command, Olayinka Ayanlade, when reached, confirmed the occurrence, stating that the remains of the deceased have been transported to the morgue.

He further mentioned that the injured parties have been taken to the hospital for treatment.

Ayanlade stated, “Initial investigations suggest that the incident occurred when a Mack truck owned by Bovas Oil lost control while moving from the Beere area and subsequently crashed along the Oje Market route, leading to the tragic death of a man and a woman, injuring two additional people, and damaging five tricycles along with a Toyota Camry vehicle. The truck was operated by a male adult who is currently evading capture.”
