
Personnel of the Joint Task Force, JTF, Operation HADIN KAI, alongside Civilian Hunters and the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, have apprehended a suspected informant for the Islamic State West Africa Province, ISWAP, and Boko Haram Terrorists in Gombi.
This was revealed in a report by renowned security analyst Makama Zagazola.
The individual, recognized as Abdullahi Umar, 25, a resident of Gwoza, was detained on March 23 following credible intelligence regarding the presence of ISWAP operatives in the 232 Battalion Tactical Area of Responsibility.
Initial investigations disclosed that Umar was assigned to carry out surveillance along pathways leading to the 232 Battalion general vicinity and military installations, intending to pinpoint advantageous entry points for prospective assaults.
The suspect additionally admitted to being involved in the recent attack on troops in Ngoshe.
Umar is presently in the custody of personnel for further inquiry and appropriate measures.
