Kwara’s Security Force Sounds Alarm Over Unheeded Bandit Threats

Kwara South Security Joint Watch has expressed disapproval regarding the indifferent demeanor of leaders in the senatorial district toward the problem of insecurity in the region.

NAIJATAB reports that the security watch issued a warning alert on Saturday, mere hours prior to an assault on the ECWA church at Omugo, located in the Oro-Ago community within Ifelodun LGA on Sunday morning.

Eight worshippers were kidnapped by the armed assailants, which included the spouse of the church leader; however, three of the victims were subsequently rescued.

A declaration by the Coordinator of the Joint Security Watch, Elder Olaitan Zubairu, on Monday conveyed anger and disappointment that despite prior alerts, leaders did not take action.

“It is time for anticipatory leadership,” Zubairu stated.

“We extend our sincere condolences to the victims and families affected by the recent bandit attack on the ECWA Church in Omugo, Oro-Ago community.

“Politicians have conveyed messages of sympathy, but we demand tangible action. We require technology, vigilance, and unified efforts to safeguard our communities. Collaborate with security agencies, endorse community initiatives, and advocate for viable solutions.

“Enough is sufficient. Demonstrate action, not merely rhetoric. Let’s join forces to defend Kwara South,” the statement further mentioned.
