A public affairs analyst, Mahdi Shehu, has stated that numerous challenges confronting Northern Nigeria are self-imposed, attributing the fault to the region for not assuming accountability.
Shehu, in a statement shared on X on Saturday, condemned what he termed a culture of assigning blame to others rather than engaging in self-examination.
“Inhabitants of Northern Nigeria are preoccupied with lamenting and blaming others when they ought to hold themselves accountable,” he remarked.
He contended that internal conflicts such as avarice, animosity, injustice, and jealousy have undermined the region over the years.
“They have permitted avarice, animosity, injustice, and jealousy to ruin them. What a shame,” Shehu remarked.
