
Forces of Operation Hadin Kai have apprehended two alleged informants connected to militant groups in the Mainok region of Kaga Local Government Area in Borno State.
Zagazola Makama, a specialist in counter-insurgency and security within the Lake Chad area, revealed this in a post on X on Saturday.
As per his statements, “Security personnel noted that the suspects were detained around 3:00 a.m. on March 18 due to reliable intelligence regarding the movements of suspected informants in the vicinity.”
He further mentioned, “The sources indicated that troops from the 156 Task Force Battalion quickly deployed to the site after receiving alerts from local witnesses concerning suspicious conduct in the general Mainok vicinity.”
Makama additionally remarked, “Throughout the mission, two civilians believed to be informants for Boko Haram were captured.”
He cited sources as stating, “Items retrieved from the suspects consisted of electrical wires thought to be associated with terrorist logistical and support operations.”
He also pointed out that, “The apprehended individuals and confiscated items are presently in military custody and will be transferred to the Sector 2 Military Intelligence Brigade for additional investigation.”
