The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has encouraged the recently appointed commissioners to dedicate themselves fully to their roles in the state.
He conveyed this message on Wednesday during the inauguration of the first group of five commissioners at the Government House.
The governor emphasized that the officials had already demonstrated their preparedness for the responsibilities after successfully navigating what he referred to as one of the most demanding screening processes carried out by the Rivers State House of Assembly earlier this week.
As per his remarks, the legislators had distinctly defined the duties anticipated from them throughout the screening procedure.
“I am confident that successfully completing one of the most challenging screening processes indicates that those who prevailed are equipped and prepared to serve our state,” the governor remarked, expressing his expectation of nothing less than outstanding performance from the new appointees.
The individuals who took their oaths include Tonye Bellgam, Professor Temple Nwofor, Dr. Peters Nwagor, Kenneth Lekue, and Amairigha Edward Hart.
The oath of office and the oath of allegiance were administered by David D. Ihua-Maduenyi, Chief Registrar of the Rivers State High Court.
On Friday, Governor Fubara allocated portfolios to the commissioners. Tonye Bellgam: Special Duties, Professor Temple Nwofor: Works, Dr. Peters Nwagor: Education, Kenneth Lekue: Finance/Budget, and Amairigha Edward Hart: Urban Development & Physical Planning.
