“Yobe Kicks Off Nomination Form Sales for Upcoming June 6 Local Government Election!”



The Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission (YOSIEC) has initiated the sale of nomination forms for the local government election scheduled for June 6, 2026, concerning the roles of chairman, vice chairman, and councillors.

This was announced in a press release issued by Permanent Member V, Kadai Maaji Jumbam, representing the Commission.

As he mentioned, this action complies with the electoral guidelines and current rules and regulations that govern the functions of the electoral authority.

“The sale is set to commence from March 22 to March 31, 2026, at the Commission’s office, situated within the State Ministry of Works premises on Gashua Road, Damaturu.

“The fees for the nomination forms are as follows: Chairman, N300,000; Vice Chairman, N250,000; and Councillorship, N200,000,” he stated.

Jumbam urged all political parties intending to nominate candidates to do so within the designated timeframe.
