“Royal Decree: Ozoro Chief Outlaws Unapproved Celebrations”



The customary leader of Ozoro Kingdom, Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, HRM Anthony Uvietobore Ogbogbo, has prohibited the organization of any festival within the territory without his authorization.

This prohibition was made public on Sunday when the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Aina Adesola, along with other senior police officials, visited him in light of the recent ‘rape festival’ in the region.

NAIJATAB reminds that social media erupted three days prior due to viral footage of males sexually violating females during what they termed a ‘raping festival’.

The traditional leader vehemently denounced the occurrence, emphasizing that no girl should endure such a traumatic event.

He expressed gratitude to the police commissioner for his prompt action and adept management of the situation, which resulted in the apprehension of at least 15 suspects.

The monarch also praised the state authorities for their backing and stressed that all participants must be detained and legally processed.

He additionally instructed that “no festival or congregation should take place in the Kingdom without prior consultation with the Palace for appropriate direction, in order to avert a recurrence.”
