“Prioritize Governance Over Politics: APC Urges Tinubu in Candidate Selection”

An assembly within the All Progressives Congress, the APC National Vanguard, has implored President Bola Tinubu to ensure that governance results take priority over political considerations when choosing candidates for elective roles in the party.

The assembly cautioned that a lack of continuity in leadership could undo progress already achieved, emphasizing the significance of allowing a successful administration to solidify its accomplishments.

In a release made on Thursday, the National President of the APC Vanguards, Dr. Gbenga Salam, pointed out that its stance arises at a moment when economic challenges are apparent throughout the nation.

By referencing Rivers State, the APC National Vanguard noted that despite political strife in the region, the administration has kept its focus on governance, ensuring consistency in service delivery.

The assembly contended that such steadiness is vital for ongoing development and should be supported rather than interrupted.

“Leadership must ultimately be evaluated by outcomes. In Rivers State, there is evident advancement,” Dr. Salam remarked.

In addition to its appeal to the APC leadership, the group encouraged Nigerians to remain supportive of initiatives aimed at stabilizing the economy and fortifying public institutions.

The APC assembly urged political players to prioritize development and the public good over party divisions, insisting that governance should always be directed by performance and accountability.

“When leadership exhibits prudence, achieves development, and remains directed toward the welfare of the populace, it merits continuity. This is the conclusion we have arrived at following a thorough and independent evaluation of Rivers State,” the release further stated.
